Question:

What are my chances of getting Alzheimer’s?

Well, my grandmother and her mother had it, although none of the male descendants have gotten it. They both got it when they were in their early 60′s. I have a great-uncle who is in his 70′s, and he has not gotten Alzheimer’s. Obviously, I am a male, so I don’t know how this could affect me.

Unfortunately Alzheimer’s is hereditary. To be sure you could pass a test which shows that you have or not a special gene that is responsible for Alzheimer’s in old age. But knowing beforehand could bring you stress and depression. Anyway here is a link for you to read more about Alzheimer’s: http://www.choiceeldercare.org/articles/
